These HDMI Extenders, or baluns, are used to extend HDMI beyond its typical 50ft limitation by sending the HDMI signal over UTP Cat5e/Cat6 cable up to 164ft (50 meters). This is an active process and both the transmitter and receiver are powered by the included ac adapters. Maximum resolution is 1920x1200p or 1920x1080p at 60Hz
